I couldn't figure out why I was having such a problem cranking out a blog entry, but Mr. Torn was kind enough to point out that since we've been mostly hibernating for the past couple of weeks it's pretty unlikely that I have much to say for myself. I suppose there is more than a bit of truth in it... Before Friday night we hadn't seen any of our friends or gone out in nearly a week. We have been doing lots of webcam shows and various worky admin things.

In particular we spent a couple of days casting out a net (on the net) for local modeling jobs. Since bondage and fetish porn work seems a little harder to find here than expected I've decided to expand my horizons and shoot for some slightly more mainstream work. You know, art nudes and the like. So we've made two discoveries, well that would be exaggerating, we just confirmed some things we already knew; A lot of arty photographers (oddly similar to porn producers in this respect) aren't the biggest fans of pink hair, tattoos, piercings, or porn. I have no interest in doing anything about my tattoo or piercings, but I can do something about my hair, so Mo and I went to Piedmont and bought a black wig. It's pretty cute and more similar to the hair I have now than I first thought. We're going to do some photos in it soon to see how realistic it looks. To combat putting off potential employers by letting them know I do disgusting things on camera I also signed up for a new Model Mayhem account and filled the portfolio section with the few nice vaguely non-whorish pictures I managed to find.

Another step towards being more like art is to do a buttload of free work to get my portfolio up to scratch. I've got a few shoots lined up with local photographers that sound like good fun and good practice. If you are a talented photographer in the San Francisco Bay area and would like to work with me just let me know.

Yesterday I did a shoot with the notorious Sergeant Major for his site Bondage Barrix. He definitely lived up to his reputation of being a really nice guy and very charismatic on camera, it was a really fun shoot. He and his partner were really cool and I really hope I to work with them again. It says a lot about a producer when they are willing to talk to your male partner on the phone and actually invite him along on the shoot.

More often than not Mister Torn can't come because of distance and travel costs, but it's nice to have him there if it's plausible. So many producers get uptight about bringing your partner as a chaperon, and probably for good reason, but Mo is awesome and generally more of a help than a hindrance, even if the only thing he can really contribute for that shoot is good conversation. Good atmosphere is so important and he always helps me relax.

Apart from at night when he wants to stay up until the later early hours chatting crap and fucking, of course.

It just takes a bit of time and the correct pitch - you guys got everything you need - these sites just use your talent to punt their sales. You can't buy style and you guys have it.
